Why we'd go
A compact Roman museum that's very good with children: explorer buckets, trails and spotter sheets, dressing up, mosaic making and real Roman finds to handle. The park outside has a play area and a lake.
Watch out for
It isn't big – an hour or two covers it, so combine it with Verulamium Park or the rest of St Albans.
