Canterbury Cathedral
Canterbury, Kent
Visit any day
Cathedral and pilgrimage site.
- Home ed
- No home educator offer is advertised. Children under 17 go free with a paying adult anyway, and schools can book trails and workshops (stained glass, quill writing, stone carving) – ask whether a home ed group can book.
Why we'd go
Explorer packs (magnifying glass, torch, sketch pad and a mission sheet) and family tours for ages 6–13 bring it to life, and children like the Harry Potter-like cloisters and crypt. Under-17s go free with a paying adult, and tickets last 12 months.
Watch out for
Adult tickets are around £16–17. It's a working cathedral, so parts can close for services, and weekends get crowded.
Details last checked: 1 October 2026. Please check with the venue before you travel.
