Good to know
The Operation Dynamo section of the Secret Wartime Tunnels is closed for maintenance.

Why we'd go

A huge site with great views, lots of history, a play area and atmospheric wartime tunnels. The shorter Underground Hospital tour suits younger children.

Watch out for

The Secret Wartime Tunnels queue can be very long in holidays – arrive at opening and go there first. It's steep and exposed on the hill; use the land train and bring a windproof layer.

Details last checked: 1 October 2026. Please check with the venue before you travel.
