Why we'd go
The Royal Pavilion's dragon treasure hunt and children's trail turn the lavish rooms into a game – staff even encourage lying on the Music Room carpet to look up at the ceiling. Brighton Museum next door has Egyptian mummies.
Watch out for
Royal Pavilion entry is on the higher side for a family, with audio guides extra. Better suited to older children than toddlers.
